While Xiaomi already has the Xiaomi 16 series on the cards for a Q4 launch, the company also looks set to release a new premium device shortly, and this phone is said to eschew an SoC made by Qualcomm or MediaTek.
This device, the Xiaomi 15S Pro, is expected to make its debut next month in China. As shared by a popular leaker on Weibo, the Xiaomi 15S Pro is currently scheduled to launch late in May, sometime after May 20, in commemoration of the company's 15th anniversary.
While information on the Xiaomi 15S Pro remains elusive, it's expected to be powered by an in-house SoC, branded "XRing". Supposedly, it will be a close twin to the Xiaomi 15 Pro, featuring the same chassis, design, and camera hardware—the only significant change being the presence of the "XRing" chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite on the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
It's important to note that word on the grapevine indicates that the release of the Xiaomi 15S Pro isn't a certainty. Reportedly, the phone could ultimately still be canceled and confined to Xiaomi's archives. Either way, even if the Xiaomi 15S Pro launches, it'll remain exclusive to the Chinese market without any prospects of ever being released globally.
